Display and compare future custom date vs. baseline on details overlay

From user:

On the details overlay,  I can see:

a)The baseline date – (Start and End date)

b)The actual date in which the item was inspected / finished

However since no project is as per the baseline (I am sure you are fully aware of this), I am unable to see when the actual date is .. For example, for item 4 (Pick up at AZ industries) is planned to 19/09/2018- 02/04/2018 – But the PM does not know when the actual date is

To know this, I suggest you create a free text field – This could be used to fill dates / enter remarks as well... I know notes is an option. But having a text field might be easier as it can be read without clicking on too many places, and also the possibility of entering this information via batch updates.

    These are two separate topics:

    1) Show the actual start and finish dates as they were reported through our progress tracking capabilities on the Details View.
Currently you can export our detailed progress CSV from Import/Export tools which will show planned vs. actual dates for all activities in your project.

    2) Be able to put another date into the system to then show 3 dates: Scheduled one (currently shown), Forecasted Actual one (by PM as described above), Actual one (reported through Sablono).
Currently we offer the following options for this: Manually change the Scheduled date to show the Forecasted Actual - successors of the sequence will also adapt accordingly - This can be done through the Week Plan and by Bulk change on the Deliverables page. Or create an Info note stating the forecasted Actual date.

In my understanding this would be part of Short Range Programme and agile changes to the schedule. David, what do you think?

They do want to have the planned schedule displayed for comparison purposes. Reason for variations are due to changes in the shipping durations, or longer waiting times at the port, etc...
