Add a Package Code to the Activity Level

At Lendlease we use standard package codes against all our systems and we would like to see the same code at activity level. Specifically at the Process templates so as we can copy and paste to new projects as required.

I understand the Commercial Dashboard can be used for this but we want to standardise this across all our projects hence the idea of the Template utilisation.

    I think having the Package Code as separate field will be the priority for now. Happy to take your advice of where the best place to put it is but for now i think the Process Templates are a good place to start.

     

    As for the my question...although we have standard package codes, in the scenario where the same activity is undertaken by two different teams...commercially we may have two similar cost codes for them as they represent a different contractor hence why i was asking that question. Same activity but different contractor. This is why i was asking that question.

    Hi Micheal,

    Some comments from my side:

    1. If you are searching for a short-term solution without any development effort from Sablono you can currently add the information to the activity name (you will see it on the platform, the Today app as well as in the exported Excel sheet then) or to the activity description (which will only be shown in the exported Excel).
    2. Putting it in an additional field in the template is obviously a valid plan and I agree, that has to be the way forward in the future. Let's see how we prioritize the requirement compared to the other development topics.
    3. Your last question is not really related to Package Codes, is it? You are thinking how to set it up when the same activity is performed by different teams (e.g. in different buildings of the same project), right?

    Hi David - I was just chatting to Khuong on this as well and a few things:

    1. We certainly want it as a standalone field. One reason being quick filtering and the other being if we were to export and import data into another LL System, it will act as a Unique Key for us to use for other systems.
    2. keeping the Package code in the activities name is OK as long as we can see it in the export documents.
    3. Me and Lucas were thinking Process Templates as we can then carry it across other projects too.
    4. What about the scenario where we might have two teams doing the same activities, i.e. Drylining 1 and Drylining 2 etc?

    glad you found our ideas portal.
    Maybe a naive question from my side, but couldn't those codes also be added to the activity names? If not, could you please elaborate a little what would be the future goal of adding them to Sablono.
